The Sally Barker Empire meets anarchitecture week

I am currently building my own empire as a way of taking control over the exhibition of my work. The Sally Barker Empire consists of an ongoing series of sculpture taking the architectural model as a starting point. I am remaking famous art institutions and landmark buildings like Tate Modern, hi-jacking them with & for my work. Having accessed these architectural icons, gaining entry in model form, my work takes over and the international art scene is mine! This may be in the form of an intervention to the fabric of the building, or imposing a Sally Barker Wing or placing scaled down versions of my sculpture ( past , present and future), in and around the site.

My models differ from their clean, precise, well- made cousins, in that they are a celebration of the scruffy: low-tech and imprecise. They are abundant in the strands & blobs of glue that make up a large part of my materials list. I am not desperate to make them wrong , I just have no intention of making them functional. The Empire contains projects that have no technical, financial or structural restrictions so showing in The Sally Barker Empire is exhibition heaven.

I am also showing other artists in my global empire of galleries: proposals for projects or shows can be sent to me at sally@sallybarker.orgsally@sallybarker.org

The Sally Barker Empire will soon be on my web site - www.sallybarker.org
