Total Disturbance Radio
Intervention
2004
The Total Disturbance Radio Belt contains a sound source (Mini-disc player) connected to 5 miniature FM transmitters.
The belt can be worn, turning the wearer into a mobile 5 channel pirate radio station. The belt has been designed to be easily hidden under a coat or jacket.
The Silent Zone - (18/6/2004)
Each of the five transmitters was tuned to broadcast on the same frequency as the top 5 London radio stations. A silent signal was broadcast creating a 25 metre zone, around the belt, within which radios tuned to the five radio stations where reduced to silence. The belt was worn on an extended walk around London's streets . |
